Stingrays were founded by Phylshawn Johnson and Wes Wingate along with Greg Hausman and Mark Siebenaler. Phyl and Mark have gone their separate ways from the group while Wes and Greg are currently recording a new record with Dan Carroll (Bockman, Joe Stickley's Blueprint, The Hipnecks).  Their relatively small catalog has drawn comparisons to Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, The Beatles, Pavement, My Morning Jacket, Dinosaur Jr. and others. Although influences are not hidden by the group, Stingrays remain a project carving out a style they can call their own, with pop-sensible melodies and classic guitar work riding over imaginative drumming.  Stingrays debut album (Say Hello) was released on May 22, 2007 and received substantial airplay on college radio.  The album was also used in a recent film from Missouri directors "Salad Daze".  A new album is under way with some guest musicians.  Stay tuned. Pick up a copy of  "Say Hello" from the store page and look for them on tour near you this summer.
